What is DESIGN.md?
DESIGN.md is a design context file for AI coding agents. Instead of saying "make this app look more polished" or "make it feel like this reference," a team can provide durable visual rules that an agent can read before it writes UI.
A useful DESIGN.md usually describes colors, typography, spacing, border radius, shadows, density, component behavior, imagery rules, and what the interface should avoid. The goal is not to replace a full design system. The goal is to make design intent portable.
Why it matters
AI coding tools are fast at generating screens, but they often drift toward generic UI. A design context file gives the agent concrete constraints: how buttons should feel, how sections should breathe, which tokens to reuse, and what kind of visual rhythm belongs in the product.
What DesignSaver adds
DesignSaver turns a website reference into a broader package: DESIGN.md, tokens.json, CSS variables, Tailwind theme values, sample preview pages, screenshots, and prompts for tools like Codex, Claude Code, and Cursor.
